Team Up Thursday - Water

Sometimes, I won't pick my Team Up Thursday picture until Lee sends me hers - maybe I'll have a few pictures that fit the week's theme, and I'll pick what I think looks best with her picture.

Not today - I only had one picture ready and we couldn't be more opposite on our interpretation of this week's theme, "Water".

Lee's gorgeous lake view, with Toronto in the far distance, the foamy waves - it's a beautiful landscape. And then there is my first attempt at isolating a drop of water off the kitchen faucet.

One technique I used for the first time in attempting this shot is the use of Focus Lock, sometimes referred to as "Back Button Focusing". It was useful, albeit a little uncomfortable for my hands as my camera body is big and my hands are small.

Now I want to try again, with better light and a faster shutter speed to see if I can get the bottom drop nice and crisp!

Lee and I love the Team Up Thursday challenge - it was started by Megan and Melody. Each Thursday, Lee and I create a diptych based on a theme. You can view the other great diptychs at the Team Up Thursday Flickr group.

I don't know I like the contrast between the little bit of water and then lots and lots of crashing down water. Looks good together. :)

I like the contrast too. It looks great together.
