Team Up Thursday - Comfort

I hope you are comfortable and cozy this Thursday morning as Lee and I team up with Comfort.

Nothing says "comfort" better than a steamy mug of tea, especially with the cold, snowy winter we've been having. In fact, as I type up this blog post, I am enjoying my own mug of tea.

When I received Lee's picture, I decided to shoot a picture of my colorful scarf to offset the predominant neutral tones of the teapot.

SOOC Saturday - Merry Christmas

Over five inches of snow fell overnight. Thank goodness we don't have to go anywhere today.

Expect for a little walk around the neighborhood. Had to work off some of that Christmas Ham.
Garland and Bulbs
And take pictures of my neighbor's front door.

I hope you had a Merry Christmas.

Team Up Thursday - Orange

"Orange" was the theme from two weeks ago, but I got sidetracked with the trip to Vegas.

Lee's picture is on top - cute Chloe with a remnant from a Halloween pumpkin (yes, Halloween was a mere two+ weeks ago). I enjoyed a mandarin orange this morning. I love these tiny globes of citrus - a sign of the season.

286/365 - So Many Colors and Patterns

I just had to take a picture.

Erica and her friends had their nails done this afternoon, after school let out at 11:00 for a half day.

10.10.15 - Designs and Patterns Galore

Speaking of cell phones - today marks the one year mark for Erica and her phone. And yes, she already wants a new one....

261/365 - Party Remnants

Well, not 100% true. These discarded balloons are scattered on the grass because of the winds Saturday afternoon, before Brian's party. I had planned on a water balloon toss contest, but when the wind took them away, I punted on that plan.

But I liked how colorful they looked in the grass. And that glob of light green was some silly string from the party - a gift from George.

SOOC Saturday, Posted on Monday

It was a very busy weekend. So busy that I didn't open up my laptop until late Sunday evening. What were we doing? This might give you a little clue:

Decorating Tools

A little room re-decorating, a little football, a little soccer, all mixed into the weekend. Summer is definitely over.

September 6-8, Days 247-249

Monday, September 6 - Day 247:
A new home project has sprung life - Erica wants to paint her room a turquoise color, with huge circles spattered around the room. We picked out some color chips and a sample that has been chosen as THE color.

10.09.06 - New Project

Tuesday, September 7 - Day 248:
Baseball game, Brian playing second base. At bat, he hit a big triple, then was out at first, and finally he hit a single. The team won.
10.09.07 - Second Base

Wednesday, September 8 - Day 249:
I didn't have time to get to the store yesterday, but I made it to Target this afternoon to purchase the newly released Sara Bareilles CD, Kaleidoscope Heart. I chose the Target version, as it contains three bonus tracks. I had been listening to a preview on IHeartRadio, and know it's a great follow up to Little Voice.

10.09.08 - New Release

Instant faves:
Uncharted
Hold My Heart
Let the Rain

... although I'm sure I'll love them all after listening more.

Unexpected

I didn't expect to find a colorful scooter next to the kitchen garden. Sometimes the unexpected is just what you were meant to find.

167/365 - Red, White and Blue

My friend, Jill, hosted book club tonight and she went with a patriotic theme of Red, White and Blue. With a blue chicken thrown in to coordinate with the cute chicken theme she has in her kitchen.

10.06.18 - Red White and Blue With a Chicken

Tonight's book club agenda - selecting the next six books for our group. Each member brings a book or two (or more) and we all vote. This allows for a diverse selection to pick from. The top six books are determined and we assign the reading schedule.

I brought two selections, The Happiness Project and Women, Food and God. These selections were a departure from my normal fiction suggestions, but I figured mixing things up never hurt anyone.

The group did choose The Happiness Project, which will be read in January. I think the timing is perfect. And when that time comes around, I'll report back what my group of friends thought about the book.

248/365 - Rich Colors of Fall (and my PC Baker)

The Pampered Chef Square Baker I ordered a couple weeks ago arrived today, delivered by my friend, Amy. I bought the baker to replace the oval baker that broke earlier this year. Pampered Chef no longer makes the oval baker (boo!), so I settled for the square one. The catalog touts the square baker as the "perfect brownie baker". We'll have to test that out this weekend :-]

A bonus - the pretty Cranberry Glaze. A perfect color for the Fall table:

137/365 - Favorite Greens

Today I took pictures to fulfill a challenge to take pictures of all things green - green being my favorite color.

With Spring in full force, it is not hard to spot all shades of green, and I sought to capture different hues - light, dark, forest, chartreuse, lime, just to name a few.

A few from the garden:

The leaves of the cranesbill (flowers may be seen here).

The parrots feather survived the winter in the pond.

Variegated hosta

Then some pictures while I watched Brian's baseball game (unfortunately, they lost again, but Brian hit a single and a double while at bat).

My favorite fizzy drink - lime, of course!

Earphones tucked in my camera bag. Yes, I picked them because of the color!

All in all, another busy day. What's your favorite color? Challenge yourself to capture it in images.
