My co-worker, Pieter, has this very dangerous candy dispenser in his office. I guess it wouldn't be so dangerous if he didn't fill it with m&m's and leave it unlocked.
That's probably why it is low on candy.
Don't tell him I often sneak in and grab a handful. You know, the afternoon chocolate fix.....

I took a picture of the Christmas tree this morning (yes, quite dark, even at 6:45 nowadays). I think it looks like a tree, don't you?
The winds are whipping here, with the light snow swirling around everywhere. But not enough to accumulate. Yet.
Just playing around with photographing the lights on the tree and since I'm convinced there aren't enough lights on the tree to get that spectacular "twinkle light bokeh" you see at the holidays, I decided to try my hand at creating globes of light.
I just turned off my auto focus, manually shot with the lights out of focus and combined two pictures with several blending layers and a texture for this result.

I'm not 100% sure about the results, but it was fun playing with all the different effects and maybe I can use the pictures as a texture.
My neighbor's tree with the lovely red berries caught my eye yesterday during my Saturday run (I notice all sorts of things to photograph while running - it helps to pass the miles). I shot most of them with the same settings (70mm, aperture priority - F2.8, ISO200), then played around with the various captures to get three different results.
Basically SOOC, just cropped from horizontal to vertical:
Applied a vignette, then lightened with a Levels adjustment. The lighting is so different from the first picture - the blue sky casts a coolness over the scene.
This one gets a vintage treatment with a hue / saturation layer. This isn't quite my "normal style", so it was fun to create.

In the heart of downtown Indianapolis, the City Centre Mall complex forms a circular overpass above the intersection of Illinois and Washington Streets, illuminated Saturday night.
