The Moonrise, but Not the Super Moon

I guess I was a day too early, but the moonrise on Friday was still very nice and I was in a position to actually capture it.



Shot hand held, at 70mm. I didn't have my 300mm lens with me, not that would have made a big difference because I didn't have my tripod, either. Nor do I think the people at mini-golf would have been too happy with my set up slowing up play on the 14th hole.

Saturday evening, I watched a huge, reddish moon rise as I was riding in the car, speeding down the highway. No chance to stop there, but I enjoyed the view.

Eye in the Sky

I thought the swirling clouds resembled the Eye of Isis.



My head cold appears to be waning, and the bulk of my Christmas preparations are complete, so I am feeling less stressed now and ready for a nice weekend. I hope you have a great Friday evening

Rainy Start, Rainbow Finish

It's been a while since I've created a mosaic. The rains fell briefly yesterday morning, covering the trees with a thin layer of water. I don't remember the last time it rained in the early morning. The rain cut my Saturday run short, so instead I went out and captured the drops of rain.



The rain cleared and the cold, whipping winds remained for the rest of the day, until the evening, when a surprise rainbow appeared across the sky.


It only lasted for ten minutes and was gone, but what a nice finish to the day.
