Simple Fun with my iPhone Camera
It's true when they say a camera is simply a tool for the photographer. And while the features of any given camera may make the photographer's job easier, the camera itself doesn't take the picture - the person behind the lens does.
Case in point - some pictures I took with my new iPhone. I have the old (cheaper) 3G phone, so we are talking the 2 MP sensor, no zoom, no fancy controls. Pretty basic stuff.

I modified this pool picture using the iPhone app, PhotoBox. I applied their red flare filter:
And I'll admit - taking pictures with this simple camera is so simple and freeing - no apertures, shutter speeds to think about, no white balance adjustments, no Photoshop - just frame the shot, hold steady and click. Then email to flickr.
No, I'm not about to sell my sophisticated camera equipment, but the simple camera balances all of that sophistication out. Something we need every now and then.

Shirley, I've missed seeing you! Can't get over the clarity of these--man, that's a pretty good camera on that Iphone! I LOVE your low tide photo a few posts ago...gorgeous!!!

The first picture is just unreal Shirley. I just love it. I wish I could get an iphone. At&t doesn't even get reception in my area!
I am amazed at some of the pictures we get from our iPhones. Missing you over at 2ps - but glad to see you still snapping away. (BTW: really like that pool shot!)

AWESOME shots! I was amazed at my hubby's iphone's camera, and now I want one! Sure beats lugging around the "big boy" camera all the time!
Those are great, my BB takes lousy shots. I have a p&s that I use sometimes, I agree on how freeing it is! :)
