155/365 - Makeshift Blinds

Over the last year, the blinds that cover our windows (double cellular, room darkening) have experienced broken internal strings which have rendered the lift mechanism useless. In other words, you couldn't pull the blinds up.

I finally took the blinds down and brought them to the blind repair place. The good news - the repairs will only cost $15 compared to new blinds (over $100 per blind). After a year of living partially in the dark, the rooms exhibit a new airiness to them, no longer darkened by permanently drawn blinds. It's quite nice (although a little bright at 5:30am when the sun comes up).
