4/365 - New Year's Day Bike Rides

Part of today's adventure - Bike races on New Year's Day.
In 20 degree weather and whipping winds.
Sometimes I think the kids are crazy, but then I realize they are just full of life.

The biking riding allowed me to continue with this week's Project 365 Challenge of utilizing the Automatic modes on my camera - I chose to use the Action Scene Mode, which continuously adjusts the focus area based on the movement in the viewfinder. This mode also actuates the shutter quickly.

Picture of Brian taken on Action scene mode:

Exposure: 0.001 sec (1/1600)
Aperture: f/3.5
Focal Length: 48 mm

I wanted to use a bit of fill flash, so I switched over to Aperture Priority (what I shoot in 99% of the time, it seems). I find the Fill flash helps prevent shadows in bright, sunny lighting.
I combined the two pictures together here:

Exposure: 0.002 sec (1/500)
Aperture: f/6.3
Focal Length: 48 mm
