The Grand Poppy

Don't judge the plant when it first emerges from the ground - case in point, the Oriental Poppy. With leaves that look like dandelions on steroids, the poppy overcomes its unsightly foundation with puffy crepe paper blooms, nodding on delicate stems.

The color and the design of this poppy are almost surreal looking. Your photography skills continue to blossom...

They are so beautiful aren't they! I agree about the leaves though. I am going to cut back my poppy as soon as the last flower has finished blooming as they get very messy, and who knows, it might just encourage another flush of flowers! xx

What an incredibly beautiful poppy and your photos are gorgeous. So very different than our California poppies.
