What Goes Up .....

You know the saying - what goes up must come down.

Up she goes...
Extension

What I didn't capture is the girl's fall from Caesar after the above photo (I was probably frozen in disbelief). She was a little too high up, got bounced up and lost hold of her left stirrup, so down she went. You know how things appear to happen in slow motion when you see something wrong going on? Well, that's what it looked like to me.

But she landed quite gracefully on her shoulder with no contact from her horse (he moved right out of the way - good boy). She dusted herself off, got right back on and back to jumping.

Over a Barrel, Sort Of

Good Job, Caesar....
A Pat for A Job Well Done

It's not a sport for the faint of heart, that's for sure.
Happy Day
But for sure, it makes her happy.

Oh my, I bet your heart stopped when you saw her falling. Great captures of the two of them.

Yikes. That's when you want to be at a place with really good footing to help cushion the fall. Young people are so resilient. I'm glad she's okay.

I can only imagine what a scare that must've been for you! ...thank goodness daughter (and Caesar) are alright. Love the stop motion captures.

I'm so glad she is okay, Shirley! That is scary to watch! Thanks for stopping by!

Great shots. I'm glad she wasn't hurt in the fall.

My niece shows horses, no jumping involved - I'm guessing the tumbles and hit shoulders is likely something that my brother discouraged and geared her focus elsewhere. Great shots and I'm glad she was not harmed.

Jumping is truly a sport in its own! My daughter prefers not to fall off - so only jumps when her trainer tells her to - and on a horse who loves to jump & will always take the rider with her (not her dressage/arena horse). My daughter had a tough work out in her lesson last night too - no jumping or falling - but a lot of leg strength on her part to keep his barrel straight in those turns! They were both tired & sweating afterwards (well - we are having 70-90% humidity this week - may contribute to the sweating)

Wow -- what a courageous girl!
