112/365 - Little Nest

Look what I found in our front door flower arrangement bucket thing (you know, the Flower Market hanging bucket from Southern Living - I swear, every other house here has one):

I tried to discourage the bird once before by removing the nest from the bucket, but then she rebuilt it and the eggs showed up. One yesterday, and another one today. But the different egg colors? Has another bird taken over? Such mysteries.

This is so cool, Shirley! I had a bird build a nest in one of my deck pots last year, and I couldn't even get near it to water it. It does look like there was an unauthorized donation to the nest. It will be interesting to see if you can get a shot of mama on the nest.

Interesting eggs - be curious to see the mom because the eggs are very different from each other.

It will be interesting to see what hatches out of those 2 different eggs

We had a bird build in our back yard and my mom took some shots of the egg and newborns birds.

Wow, that's really cool! The eggs are really pretty. I can't wait to see what hatches from them.

Wow! that is very cool! I wonder what the birds will look like!

WOW...How awesome is that. At first I thought they were fake ones that you can buy at the store. They really are just gorgeous. Perhaps she is just babysitting the other egg.

That is too cool! Are you going to leave them there?

Very cool Shirley!! Seems like you've got us all involved and interested in this saga! LOL We will be expecting updates. ;]

Interestingly enough, I checked again this morning. Guess what - now there are 5 eggs - 2 of the light blue and 3 of the brown speckled!
A bird is tending to the nest, too, she flew off as I opened the door.
